During the construction of the Alyeska Pipeline, this annex camp and others like it were used to house over 60,000 workers from Prudhoe Bay where the pipeline originates down to the terminus in Valdez.
The housing annex is made up of separate rooms with a public bathroom facility for both men and women. People like to stay in the pipeline annex just to say that they stayed where the pipeline workers stayed. The pipeline is a large piece of Alaska's history and this is a way you can experience a part of it.
